Old and discarded, a section of track straddles a bridge along part of the infamous Death Railway near Hellfire Pass in Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand. Built by Allied Prisoners of War and forced local labour during World War II, the railway is still in use. Escaping from under the rusting iron track a seedling starts life on a decaying sleeper.
